Anna Phillips, the principal of ‘on the plate’, has been involved in
the food industry for over twenty-five years, having qualified as a
Home Economist in 1981. Anna’s career has largely been involvement with
the seafood industry . During this time
and for over twelve years Anna was a regular Seafood Educator at the Sydney
Seafood School. With a passion to continue teaching in 2004 Anna began
conducting seafood cooking classes at the Newcastle Fishermen’s Co-op
on the North Coast of NSW. Then in 2008 Anna began the Food to Fuel
Cucina Cooking Classes.
In addition she has continued her twenty five year involvement with electronic media, both television and radio and has appeared in the past as a seafood cooking presenter on Channel 9’s ‘Fresh’. Anna also appeared regularly on ‘Hooked on Adventure’ with Steve Starling and Bushy – catching as well as cooking the fish caught. Anna has been a regular food presenter at the Mandurah Boat Show and Motor show in WA in addition to the Royal Easter Show – NSW and the Good Food Shows.
Currently Anna is the major journalistic contributor, food stylist and consultant for a consumer seafood magazine called ‘Quick and Easy Seafood’. Anna has co-produced a BBQ Seafood Cooking Video and has also co - authored an Australian Seafood Cookbook ‘From Water to Plate’ launched in October 2003.
